Torquay

Torquay is a very popular and historic town with a huge variety of things to do, a perfect place to entertain yourself or the whole family. Torquay, like most of towns in area is situated right on the coast, the main town is just a few minutes away from the nearest beach - Torre Abbey sands. If that isn’t good enough you can go to one of the other 8 beaches around Torquay, all with unique views across the bay. The town itself is bursting with history, it is the birthplace of the famous murder mystery writer Agatha Christie, has beautiful ancient caves containing a variety of interesting fossils, World War 2 slipways in the Harbour and Torre Abbey, which was built in 1166 and is the largest surviving medieval monastery in Devon and Cornwall. And of course, who can forget the role Torquay played in the famous comedy Fawlty Towers.
